Looking for 34 stockcross?

My gt gt uncle is stated on the 1928 and 1929 electoral roll as living at "34 Stockross". Any ideas where this house is?

I did a google search and there is a Stockross in Newbury Berkshire, does this fit in with what you know

Oh yes definitely near newbury.
Would just like to know where the house is, because all the roads have names but it seems not back then

On the FREE 1911 address search Stockross is showing as Speen, Newbury

As far as I know, there's only one stock cross  and that's the village near speen.   Maybe there weren't many houses there back then, so they just gave the address like that?

Are you sure that "34" is the address and not "Schedule number" ?

Can you publish his name/surname ?

If you look at the 1939 Register for Stockcross in Newbury RD you will see that there are a large number of dwellings numbered in this way

Reading another post of yours, you were looking for Joe Seymour, Stockcross.

There is a Joe Seymour next door to "The Nags Head", Stockcross.
1901 "The Nag's Head" is being run by George W Harper Alick White.
