No, it's definitely Drogheda. I have other evidence to that effect. Peter Burns left Liverpool with his family at an early age according to the census returns.

Chris.

Here you go.  http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Library/FHC/frameset_fhc.asp

Good luck.

Pat

I didn't realise that the Mormon church had centres around Britain with a set of such microfilms. Just to confirm, if I visit one of their centres (probably York) would I be able to access details of marriages in St Peter's, Drogheda, for the period in question?

Thanks,
Chris.

Annie,  8)

Oliver Plunkett, to the best of my knowledge was quite normal.
He had only one head. Does St Peter's Church in Liverpool
also have a head belonging to this guy? I find this fascinating.
I wonder why this fact has been omitted from history books.

Regards, Christopher

I don't know what your local center (oops "centre") might have on hand but you can order microfilm through them for viewing there. The cost is minimal.

Good luck. You should enjoy your visit to the centre.

Interesting observation about the good bishop. We used to hear that after he was beheaded, the head was kicked around by Cromwell's men.

Lol Pat,

Does that mean St Peter's Church in Liverpool might have a bit of his head. I suppose a small bit of the head would not be big enough to be mentioned in the history books. Do you think the congregation of that Church have been puzzling over a small piece of bone or skin for many years? Should they  be enlightened about the Cromwellian game of footie and that small piece of skin that may be in their possession?
