Help with Identifying the Uniform please
« on: Tuesday 19 April 16 13:40 BST (UK) »
Good Afternoon

I am hoping someone may help identify the uniform Thomas Middlemist (born Jedburgh 1866) is wearing. From the dates of births for his children I am guessing about 1915 for the year.

Regards
Moo

There is a shaded band across the top area,   but I think the hat is  of a Scots regiment?

Yes, looks like it to me too; which fits if he was born in Jedburgh(!)

The badge on his belt is too blurry to make out... Is there any chance of a better resolution photo?

Hello
I'm afraid this is the only picture I have, I will have a look and see if I can place my hands on the original and re scan (this scan was nearly 20 years ago).

Have you already found him on the 1901 Census?

Hello Romilly

1901 Census -
Aged 34, Single, Tailor, 7 Castlegate, Jedburgh. He married in 1904, I don't have the family in 1911 census yet.

I think you need the Scotland's People Site to find him on the 1911.

I can't find him under Soldier's Records on FindMyPast, and can't find him on The National Archives Site. Sorry! Hopefully someone else will be able to help... A Regiment Name would certainly help.

You might find something on this Site:
