Ah geez. By 1881 both Eliza and Hiram have turned into YOUNGs.

Hiram,Robert and Alice E are born as SCHERER (I think). Crazy part is an Eliza SHERER shows as a possible spouse 1847 Bradford to Manasseh DENNISON.

It's too early in the morning for this! :)

Thanks everyone for your effort. After your good work Henry still seems to be a puzzle. The two marriage signatures seem to be somewhat the same especially "Henry" but don't take my word for that.

Well,I don't know what his birth has been registered as but Henry DENNISON son of Manasseh and Eliza born 24 Sep 1850 and baptised Bradford 16 Oct 1850 sure looks right to me.

He (Henry) and Eliza are M*cKAY in 1851 and 1861.

Just thinking aloud  ;D

1851 census for Wm & Eliza M*cKay has Mother in law Elizabeth Young born Frankfort .... Her sons also have the surname Young so Elizabeth Snr has probably not remarried & that is Eliza's surname.

I agree that William & Eliza M*cKay in 1851/61 tie in with the Dennison family of 1871  ;D

The first child showing on the 1851 for this couple is James age 9 born Leith, Scotland - The next is William age 5 bn Bradford

It's a tangled mess!

I don't think the son born in Scotland was Eliza's.

I'm getting:

Baptisms at Bradford with mother Eliza...a "spinster"
25 Sep 1845
William Sherer

21 Sep 1855
Hiram Sherer

4 Nov 1859
Alice Elizabeth Shearer
and
Robert Shearer
...
So she married Man* DENNISON and they baptised Henry as a couple but by 1851 she's with Mr McKAY-stays with him until after 1871 when she reverts to Dennison and then just for a change of pace becomes a YOUNG.(which may or may not have been her maiden name?)

I don't see the DENNISON chap in 1851 but he's got a new "wife" by 1861.

I wonder if this could be Henry with his older brother in 1871:
