Per newspaper ads, Dedham Lodge was being offered for sale or let in April 1881, following the death of Mr F E Wembergue. I am struggling to find any further mention of it after that.

There was a cottage attached to the house in the occupation of Mr W Griffin at £10 a year.

I wonder whether it (and/or its cottage) became "Delhome", occupied by Violet de Lisle (49, wid, b Worthing) in 1901?  Again it's about 3 households away from Charles Stevens & family, on the south side of Prestbury High St. RG13/2459/30/4.

Delhome Cottage is now a listed building:

Could well be. There was a Mary O'Brien there in the 1891 census + 2 servants.

Doh! ::) Poor transcriber i.e. me

Must have missed that uninhabited mark and for some reason, assumed that the following lines were Dedham Lodge - I transcribed the census a few years ago, so haven't referred to the image since then.

Many thanks for spotting that - i'll review my transcriptions before asking the question

Don't worry - indexes for 1881 suggest that other transcribers have made the same mistake!

Hi there. Dedham indeed became Delhome cottage, a thatched cottage attached to Delhome (grade 2 listed regency architecture) . the latter is now called The Georgian House, it is in Prestbury High St. I lived there between 1984 and 1997, and know the current owners, I have a lot of information about the history of the house and its inhabitants including Gwendoline de Lisle, part of the de Lisles from Garendon Hall, now demolished but an amazing stately home. Suzy Baldwin, Gloucester.
