« on: Saturday 23 April 16 15:15 BST (UK) »
Can someone please help with details of the death of Alfred Wells in the Dec Quarter 1884, aged 32.
His wife was Elizabeth; I am interested in the cause of death, place of residence etc.

Hi Roy, I have checked the Baptisms at St Sannans Bedwellty for 1883 to 1885, there is no record of an Alfred Wells burial, the only two Wells Burials at St Sannans are two girls 2 and 4 year old about five years later, they were from Bargoed.
Where was he born, is it a case of being buried in his home town or vilage ?
Best wishes Rowley

Hi Rowley
From the census I found Alfred Wells was in living in Ebbw Vale when he died, a son Walter was born 1878 and William 1884.  His widow remarried to George Coombs in 1886 and sometime later they moved to Brithdir.

Roy

Have found an online tree which gives a date of death of 19 Dec 1884 and place of death Ebbw Vale.

This tree also has another child Alfred born 1880 who is with the family on the 1881 census in Hampshire (he was born there in 1880).

This tree also has the death of son William (1883)  in Brithdir in 1941.
