Hi everyone,
I'm trying to find information on the McGivern family of Blackwatertown, Moy.
Some of the family were adopted or fostered about the 1920's, there was Kathleen who was born 1920, Sarah and Fred. There was an older sister Susan born 1900, married Edward Cranney in 1921 and settled in Derrycaw.
Kathleen ( born 21/04/1920 ) married Thomas Leckey and settled in Banbridge. I'm trying to find out who their parents were and why they had been put into care, not sure if both parents had died.
Fred was in the merchant navy and I think he may have settled in England. Think there was other children as well.
All help would be much appreciated

Hi,
I've updated DOB for Kathleen which is 21/04/1920

Now that you have an exact date of birth you can order her birth certificate and get names of both parents, search for their death certificates, etc.

Hi Sarah,
My Sarah McGivern born about 1915 married in Banbridge, she married Hugh McCaffery.
The McGivern family I'm researching has
Susan born 1900/1901
Mary born apt 1902/1903
Sarah born apt 1915
James born apt 1920
Kathleen born 1921
There is also Freddie not sure when he was born, he was in the merchant navy and may have settled in England.
Both parents died late 1920's or early 30's as the younger children where brought up by a woman with the surname Trainor and lived in Rathfriland Street, Banbridge.
Tried Groni to see if I could find birth information especially for Susan who was born first but haven't been successful. Also tried this website which is free and has great records,
