Canadian Passenger Records only cover 1865 - 1935 on the "A" site - nothing immediately showing for George William Hamstone that I can see.

Noticed his birth 9/2/1882 mother Sarah Caroline Hamstone she married a George Barrett 1882 Australia ...A tree online has a death for him 1935 Northern Cape South Africa which you would need to check ...There is a lot of immigration records for a George W Barrett from England to Canada birth same year but this chap was born in England ...What makes you think he was in England

Thanks Rosie , I have an ancestry tree online , the info on his death from other trees is incorrect and not verified that i can see .  The hamstone name is popular in africa and that person was born/died in africa.  there is also info about a diamond thief being hung with same name , good details but a coincidence.
not really sure where our George went , just know he was saving money for travel after his mum died.
thanks though :)

GW Hamstone . was born to sarah out of wedlock, so his birth cert. is hamstone - she then married a George Barrett - cant find adoption or proof that GW took his name.  so he would of had to travel using hamstone - or a variation ? maybe
