william nelson born richmond abt 1900

I wonder if anyone in richmond or the surrounding area will have any  on a william nelson he was born abt 1900 he served in the royal artillery during ww11 and was based at catterick.

I can't find anything  from the census from 1911 and the 1939 register

any help gratefully received

If he was serving it is possible that he had enlisted before the 1939 register was taken, he would not therefore appear on it.

there is a James William Nelson (father William ) b 1904 Richmond Yks - he appears on 1939 still in Richmond

Do you have any other information on him - names of siblings??
