Nurse in army
« on: Tuesday 26 April 16 15:23 BST (UK) »
I am looking for a lady who was a nurse in the army, she was born 1921, any idea where I might find details about her. I have looked on forces war records and ancestry but cannot find her.

Was the name Queen Alexandria Nursing Corps,  or something similar?   The question is did they serve overseas   or at a military hospital in the UK.    I believe there were several Hospital Ships as well.

That is interesting because this lady married but I can find no record of it, so perhaps if she served overseas she could have got married then.

Maybe it is Queen Alexandra,  I may have got the name slightly wrong.

There is a Queen Alexandra hospital at Portsmouth,   which could have been a Royal Navy hospital at one time.

I think there will be a QANS nursing forum  somewhere on the internet,  if you  can find it.

Queen Alexandra’s Royal Army Nursing Corps service records, like other service personnel, need to be applied for from the MoD

If she served as a VAD (Voluntary Aid Detachment) then you need to apply to the Red Cross

Look on the military marriage overseas register  of BMD.
Secondly, try a search on rootschat for Nurses attached to the 8th Army in Egypt,  you may find that this question has been asked before.
