Chapman Sisters
« on: Tuesday 26 April 16 16:25 BST (UK) »
Hello all

I'm looking for information on X2 great grandmothers half sisters,

Parents

Ellen Bowser  born 1865
James Chapman  born 1881
Married 1902

Sister 1

Rosina Chapman born 1905 Mile End Old Town London

1911 Census she is with her parents sister and grandmother in Mile end
I also think she can be found on another 1911 census with my X2 great grandmother in Whitchurch Buckinghamshire
1915 she can be found on her fathers Enlistment papers address 30 Museum Buildings
1929 she is with mother and father at 30 museum buildings
after this i can't seem to track her

Second sister

Catherine Madelane Chapman born 1908 Bethnal Green London
She is with the family in 1911 and 1915 she is also listed on her father enlistment papers
In 1931 she is living at Museuem Buildings with her mother and father

After these dates i can't seem to find any information that fits death's marriages or other wise for the girls or parents! I can't even seem to locate a ideal birth place for James or possible parents i think i will have to get the marriage cert to see if that has his father on to get any more info on him!

So you are looking for Chapman sisters, not Bowser sisters as per the subject line?

There's a marriage for a Rosina Chapman and Henry J Day in Bethnal Green in 1929 and a marriage for a Catherine M Chapman and Edward Wait in Bethnal Green in 1931.

:-X I do apologise yes Chapman sister's that's because my X2 great grandmother was born under Ellen's maiden name and no father is listed on her birth cert but i do believe it's possibly James as he was visiting the house my X2 grandmother she was staying at in 1901.

I'll check those marriages Shaun i might get lucky and find them on 1939 register see if there birth dates match!

Thanks! I've managed to find a death for Rosina Day also and the DOB listed matches exactly with mine and she only died in 2000  :-[
