Looking for James Barry, born Cork around 1856

Following on from my original post http://www.rootschat.com/links/01hjf/ I’ve now found 5 baptisms in Cork, all children born to Michael Barry and Ellen Cummins.

Ellen – 10 Oct 1853
Margaret – 10 Mar 1857
Johanna – 27 Feb 1859
John – 14 Apr 1861
Michael Joseph – 30 Nov 1862

Ellen, Margaret and Johanna were baptised in St Mary’s, Cork city, the others in Sts Peter and Paul, Cork.

Despite full searches, using only initials or only 1 parent I cannot find my great grandfather, James, supposedly born in 1856, so I’m hoping more experienced chatters can help.   

I haven't yet found the marriage of Michael and Ellen either. Ellen’s mother’s death certificate is on order which I'm hoping will give us her husband’s name and help in the search.

I haven't yet found the marriage of Michael and Ellen either. Ellen’s mother’s death certificate is on order which I'm hoping will give us her husband’s name and help in the search.

Had Ellen's mother's death certificate this morning (Cardiff, June 1880), widow of Morris Cummings, shoemaker.

Even looking for Morris/Maurice Cummin(g)s I still haven't had any luck with marriages of Michael Barry - also a shoemaker - to Ellen Cummin(g)s (around 1850), nor Morris/Maurice Cummin(g)s to an Ellen, possibly around 1820-1830.

Any help, or suggestions, gratefully received. Thanks.

Thanks dathai, I'll certainly look into them, would be good if i could find the same couple with a daughter Ellen.

Not been able to find any other children born to the couple, so no further forward so far. Really struggling with the Irish branches of my family

There is an interesting looking death for a Maurice Cummins in Cork, in 1864, aged 55, which could well tie in with Ellen and her daughter and family moving to Cardiff (they were there by 1865).

Will look into ordering the certificate if I can. Would it give occupation?

Not my Maurice sadly
