Faustin Jeffery
« on: Friday 29 April 16 16:29 BST (UK) »
My ancestor was a drummer in the Loyal North Britons some time before 1807 and in 1807 he was in the Princess Charlotte regiment Loyal Southwark Volunteer Infantry from which unit he deserted in November 1807

Does anyone know where I might find records of these regiments?

Hi Simon

Normally North British or North Britain would mean Scotland. There is not a lot available about the volunteers from 1793 to 1814. However the National Archives have muster books for :
= Middlesex Britons (Loyal)
= Middlesex Britons (North)

And one for Southwark Volunteers. There are a few hits on Google for Loyal Southwark Volunteer Cavalry. There are no individual records.

Dear Jeffrey

I am currently doing some research into the Loyal North Britons and may have some useful information for you.

Can you let me know how you know your ancestor was a drummer in the regiment and, if possible, his name?

Hello

I have a piece in a newspaper from 1807 which is seeking my ancestor because he has deserted. It is mentioned there that he was a drummer boy. His name is Faustin jeffery
