That's very true, they may not be sisters as there is a large gap in baptisms.   :-\  Nor can I readily see any other baptisms between these two dates with parents of Abraham and Sarah.  :'(

Do you have a death date for Abraham, which might pin down the right one?

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

Betty - I'm assuming that she married at some point - what does it say on her marriage entry, relating to her father?  And when was that marriage?

I had a death for Abraham of 1870 with a burial on 2nd March, but if I have the wrong Abraham to start with I probably have the wrong death too
Betty married Ephraim Ashworth on 9th April 1832, as this was before 1837 I don't have a certificate and the parish records don't show parents or occupation, but both bop Southowram seems to tie in.
If we come back down the tree one more generation I have my 2G Grandparents Elizabeth Ashworth 1834 - 1874 & John Simpson 1821 - 1891. I have enough provenance on these from certificated to be certain. John Was a herbalist and Halifax town crier c1875 - c1880. He died in Halifax Workhouse on 23rd August 1891. According to the marriage certificate John's father was also John a deceased hairdresser. Elizabeth died on 30th March 1874 in her 7th month of confinement. (I suspect she was John's second wife) Elizabeth's birth certificate shows her parents as Ephraim Ashworth a Dyer and Betty Sutcliffe, she was born in Southowram, so Im pretty convinced I'm correct up to the marriage of Ephraim and Betty. The difficulty living so far away is not knowing the local geography re parishes etc. which may help unravel this

Abraham who died 1870 - occupation and age?  That may help to pin down the correct marriage.  Is he the death registered in Keighley aged 78 and buried at Haworth?  If so then he is too young to be the Abraham who married in either 1805 or 1808.

I have Abraham 1790 - 1870 so he would have been 80 when he died but I'm really doubting this Abraham now.
I've just got Betty's baptism which looks correct, October 9th 1814, Betty, parents Abr m, Sarah
abode South m, profession Mason

Some info here
http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/eng/YKS/WRY/Halifax/

There was a number of churches but the three main ones were
Halifax Parish Church (right area in map)
Elland St Marys (lower part)
Heptonstall St Thomas (left)
It is not a perfect map, but it might help you a bit (ignore the blue, pink and green forest/park lines).
The part that is cut off at the top is Wadsworth

Thanks for that, you're being a great help
I've been looking for more children for Abraham & Sarah and it looks like Betty b1814, Abraham b1816, Mary b1816, Sarah b1819, Elizabeth b 1823, Ruth b1825 and Ann b1827. Abraham & Mary seem very close, but it's just the baptism's I have which could have been months away from births
On Betty and Abrahams baptism it shows father as Mason, on all others Labourer

Its now looking like 2 Abrahams
Abraham the Labourer married Sarah Hutchinson 1815
Abraham the Mason married Sarah Roebottom 1808
The second being mine
