John Kirkpatrick

I wonder if anyone else may be tracing the 'life and times' of John Kirkpatrick who farmed Bogrie, now Henderland, in the parish of Irongray, Kirkcudbrightshire, and died at nearby Deanside, on 18/1/1845.
I am particularly interested to learn if he spent time in the Carolinas during the second half of the 1800s.

John Kirkpatrick.
Sorry, in my query I should have said John died aged 68 in the parish of Lochrutton, not Irongray!
