photos of Roan Hall Farm, Icklingham?
« on: Tuesday 03 May 16 18:08 BST (UK) »
One of my Ancestors once worked on this farm; sadly, it appears from Google Earth that it's now a small cul-de-sac of modern houses.

it was part of the Icklingham Hall Estate, and next to the rectory

Does anyone know of any images of it as a farm?

Icklingham has a village magazine called "The villager". http://icklingham.onesuffolk.net/publications/villager-magazine/

It might be possible to post your request with them.

Unfortunately, Icklingham doesn't have a Suffolk Local History Council designated 'Village Recorder' who keeps archive material, more's the shame.
Burt, Cockrill, Craske, Debenham, Double, Grimwade, Grimwood, Hilder, Mayhew, Ray. All from  West Suffolk around the Bury St. Edmunds area.
Simpson, Pittendreigh, Arthur.   Aberdeenshire

Thank sounds like a good idea - I'll give it a try.

There are many useful tasks, but never enough people to do them...
