Christchurch Union
« on: Tuesday 03 May 16 20:06 BST (UK) »
I am looking for a Frances Mary Andrews who gave birth to a daughter, Gladys E, on 8 March 1910 in Christchurch Union (Fairmile House). The workhouse records for that date are in Dorset Archives in Dorchester - Creed Register - NG/HH/CC (1888-1911). If anyone is there could you please look up the admission and discharge records for her, please? I live in Scotland!

Many thanks in hope.

Thank you so much for that. I was aware that the child didn't grow up with her mother - for whatever reason. It is interesting to see the name of the carer in the 1911 census, as she remained in touch with Gladys for many years.

I'm still no further forward in finding Frances Andrews anywhere in the South of England. I did find one ilkely candidate , but she has a 6 month old baby son in 1911, so clearly she wasn't Gladys' mother. Perhaps we shall never know.

Thank you for your help anyway.
