Any remaining records including burial records for the Ayslum at Powick just outside Worcester should be Worcestershire Archive and Archaeology Service at the Hive in Worcester

The Asylum had its own Burial Ground  http://maps.nls.uk/view/101586511#zoom=4&lat=1886&lon=6951&layers=BT

Edit -the National Archives have a list of the records http://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/browse/r/680828b4-cd2d-41be-8603-d28e4e6434e3

You have probably already thought of this, but have you tried the places where the rest of his family were buried.  One of my rellies died there, but was buried in Halesowen, where other family members were buried.

Also consider looking at the burials at Powick church as I have seen some burials there showing the pace of death as being in the asylum.
