Edith Matthews Jose 1939

In the 1939 register Edith Matthews born 1914,  is living at Prospect Place in the Bolenowe area with her family. Edith married Arthur Jose in the Dec qtr 1939 and he was a near neighbour.
I understand the reason for Edith's maiden name being crossed out and her married name added,but why is the surname Bawden there as well?
Arthur Jose (Edith's husband ) mother was a Bawden,but that doesn't explain why the Bawden name was added to Edith's in 1939.

Are you sure she died as Jose or might she have changed her name to Bawden later?

I see a 1986 marriage in Truro of Edith Jose to William T Bawden - possibly relevant?

Then a death in St Austell in 2001 of Edith Bawden, birthdate 19 October 1914.

but that doesn't explain why the Bawden name was added to Edith's in 1939.

It wasn't added in 1939; it's a later amendment in different ink.

I have now found a death of Arthur Jose in the Redruth district in 1969 whose birthdate matches the one in 1939.
If Edith is the 1986 marriage she would be in her 70's.
Added: Any idea where I can find William T Bawden?
I can't find him in the deaths at the moment.

It is possible that Edith would have known William Bawden as there was a William Bawden living in the area where Edith was born.
