There isn't a DNA test specifically for adoptees.  I am an adoptee and used the autosomal DNA through Ancestry.com, which is the same thing many people with known parentage use for genealogy purposes. 

If the test you used was from Ancestry.com, their findings regarding a place where your ancestors come from aren't quite as specific as the category names.  I had results that placed my ancestors under the Italy/Greece category, which didn't fit with the information I found.  However, that category also covers Switzerland, where I did have ancestors.

I took an autosomal (FTDNA Family Finder) test too Shelley. My results were very vague location wise. I question some of my ethnic distribution though if not recent and it goes back thousands of years it may well be accurate. But looking at mine I could never assume that my looks must be due to a particular ethnicity.
