Unknown infants in Toxteth Park Cemetery grave
« on: Thursday 12 May 16 12:20 BST (UK) »
I have burials in Toxteth Park Cemetery in what appeared at first to be a family grave of 9 people, I can account for 6 of these people but 3 are unknown and unrelated (so far) infants.

My main person of interest Ann Povall was buried in 1864 and her married daughter, husband and family all follow in the years after this.

However the earliest burial in the grave is for one of these unknown infants in 1858, so is this a public grave rather than a private burial plot?

Williams, Owens, Pritchard, Povall, Banks, Brown.

Have you asked the cemeteries dept at the council as you seem to have all the plot details?

Thank you very much Dawn I didn't know you could do that with historic graves.  I spoke to a very helpful young lady who has passed it on to the team who deal with these matters and they will contact me within 3 working days.

You can do this whatever the age of the plot and the local authority manages the cemetery.

Let us know how you get on.

I phoned last week and was told that there were only 7 graves and was given 7 numbers to look up in the burial register at Liverpool RO as they couldn't give out names ??? I don't know why when they are fully searchable online.

So I contacted the website owner who said one had definitely been keyed in wrongly on the database and he wasn't 100% sure about the other two infants but didn't feel they were correct either and would get back to me.
