I looks like William married Ann Deffell 1795.

Thanks to all for your replies Avm 228  reference to Highwood  Hill is the key.I am researching Alexander Anderson of Udale Ross Shire. I am trying to prove that William Anderson of Highwood Hill is his  brother.I have read that William Anderson of Highwood Hill was formerly of Udale so it looks good. Know I need to find William Andersons parents if possible to be sure.
 Alexander Anderson of Udale  b1755c d 1809 Cromarty m Jane had six daughters and a son William Henry Anderson .There is a repeat in names in my ancestors Alexander is the eldest and William with a variety of middle names is younger. So in Scottish naming tradition I think that Alex Anderson of Udalls father  is William.  Justina is a new name introduced into my family I noted a Justina b 1759  this is possibly a sister as this name appears in Alex of Udale and William of Udales siblings.

 Re Jims comments on the Will of William Henry Anderson did I comprehend that William henry was in debt to his Uncle William who was a stock broker . Is that right? William Henry was a man of substance , I do not Know his occupation.Maybe  the debt was due to poor investments.
 On another note there was a photo of Alexander Anderson of Udale posted on line I am interested in people thoughts on his  position in life, looking at photo. One comment was he was not your normal  5/8. It is interesting because he has a servant and a carriage which he pays tax on. Mrs Anderson of Udale has a servant and is in Cromarty Parish whilst he resides in Cullicudden Parish most interesting. Any way thanks again for all your input bye Ellecat

  Hello again  managed to do more research found on Public trees on ancestry a Dr William Anderson the second of Udoll  m Ann Duffel in 1795 son of a Dr William Anderson and Ann Davidson. Justina is sister to Dr William Anderson the second. All that remains is to establish Alexander as a brother of Dr William Anderson the second. Yes Jim and there are more children 
 the youngest Robert Milligan Anderson d1819 age79 at Highwood Hill Eltham Kent youngest son of William Anderson of  Highwood Hill Middlesex and Udoll Cromarty Scotland sourse times 28 july 1819 Times. Is this Dr William Anderson the second a brother to Alexander Anderson of Udale  ?

There are several witnesses to William & Ann's 1795 marriage:
John Deffell
Henry Davidson
Jannet MacNiel
Sarah Davidson
Justina Davidson
Caroline Davidson.
A couple of things stand out, one is the name Justina.
Is this Justina Anderson now married ?
The other is how the name Jannet is spelt. This is typically a Scottish name & you don't see it spelt this way in England.
Another is the Davidson connection.
Ann Deffell is a minor & her father is named as John Deffell.
You may be able to find a link with these names to the Scottish Family.

With regard to the will.
Yes, William H had debts & also had a £5000 insurance policy. His Uncle William was uneasy about his debts as William had/was suffering from some illness which he refers to when he says " those supposed debts which gave him (Uncle William) so much uneasiness at my first illness". Uncle William had covered his debts/expenses having the policy as security. By 1819 most of those debts had been paid & what was owing was easily recoverable from his policy. The remainder going into his general estate for the maintenance of his children.
It seems that the policy was William H's main asset.

All of the circumstantial evidence points to William H being the son of Alexander & Uncle William being Alexander's brother.
There's an anomaly in that you have Alexander's brother William dying in 1834 whereas William Anderson of Russell Sq. died in 1825.

I am getting confused Alexander of Udale supposedly marries a Jane . The repeat in names has me confused. It would be great to find a bapt  for Alexander of Udale.  I will have to look at it again.

You seem to have 2 conflicting sources of information.
A Dr. Wm. Anderson born Udale 1761 & another born London in 1761.
In William's 1825 he makes Henry Davidson & John Deffell his executors so at least that proves the 1795 marriage & the 1825 death are the same person.
