Fagan Homes
« on: Monday 23 May 16 17:00 BST (UK) »
Hi

Has anyone heard of Fagan Homes in or around the Glos area .   ???

I've just come across Cecil Nathaniel Gardiner age 11 yrs born Oakridge, whose fare was paid for by Fagan Homes to travel to Canada in 1910.  I belive his father Joseph Nathaniel Gardiner died in 1916, his occupation was given as Labourer and Mason on census.   Cecil had other relatives living in the Oakridge/Bisley area.  I'm wondering if he was a bad boy, hence the name Fagan Home,  and been transported or could there be some other reason.

Any thoughts appreciated.
 :)

Have you looked at online newspapers, there are quite a few articles that mention these homes.

Hi

Thanks rosie99 I'll take a look sorry for my spelling mistake Hepburn.

My interest is whether there were any homes as such in the area.  I did try searching for the homes via the web with no luck.

It is Fagan in the UK papers   ;D  They appear to be in London but there is mention of Mr Fagan giving places to children from the Bath area.
