Good evening,  I just found the marriage details for Catherine Donnelly wife of Robert Johnson. Catherine is the daughter of "Edwardi/Edward" Donnelly and "Elizabetha/Elizabeth". The names in the document were written in Latin.  I cannot find any information on her parents other than when Catherine married in 1864; her parents were living in Crehelp. Can anyone please help me or point me in the right direction? I do not know if Catherine had any siblings. Catherine and Robert went on to raise 9 children in Dunlavin, Co. Wicklow. Catherine was born in 1839 and Robert was born in 1844 to "Jacobi/James" Johnson and his wife Esther (?).  Many thanks for taking the time to read my post; I appreciate it!  Claddagh   :)

Thank you so much "dathai"! I'm overwhelmed with all this information that I've been missing all these years. Finding out the name of Edward Donnelly's wife opened up so many doors. I truly appreciate your looking into this for me. I never thought that this particular branch would ever be filled. So happy to hear that Catherine was not an only child. Should I be worried that Catherine's name does not appear in the information that you provided? As you can see in the "Register of Marriage" attached; Edward and Elizabeth Donnelly from Crehelp are Catherine's parents and she was born in 1839. Where could I find her birth certificate or any other document to prove that she is part of this family? The 1901 Census is indeed Catherine Donnelly. She was raising her grandson Edward Patrick and granddaughter Emily Catherine when her son James was off to war and her daughter-in-law Emily Smith Johnson went to London to find work. Emily and James's life was tragic from beginning to end. I've never uncovered what happened to James and Emily's family but that's another genealogy brick wall. I'm very excited to look at the documents that you've provided. Much appreciate your taking the time to help me! Have an amazing day!  Claddagh  ;)

I'm not 100% sure but I think full pages of the register are not allowed on RootChat, it would probably be best to remove them.

I have had a good look prior to Bridgets birth Jan 1840 there are lots of gaps due to fading of ink,i went back as far as 1838 still no sign of Catherine but i would have no doubt they are all the one family as they all appear as near neighbours on the census.
Civil Registration for Catholic births and marriages did not start in Ireland till 1864 so there will be no certs available before this date just church records as below
http://registers.nli.ie/registers/vtls000633390#page/112/mode/1up

plus the fact the name Donnelly is as rare as hens teeth on that microfilm.
