Dating for Alice Bergeron - Quebec

I just received this picture of Alice Bergeron (my great grandmother's sister) whom I've never seen before. She was born in 1897 and died in 1964. Alice and my great grandmother Sara became orphans really young. Alice never married. She lived with her sister and helped raising her nephews and nieces until her death in 1964. My grandfather considered her as his second mother. I believe she looks very sweet and kind. The family lived in Quebec, Canada.

I would appreciate if someone could help me date this picture and maybe do some colouring or restoration.

In my opinion, looking at the style of glasses and her hair, I would date this in the 1940s.
Names:  Laidlaw, Alexander, Park, Templeton, Hood, Sanderson, Fairbairn, Davidson, Delgatty, Greig
Areas:  Galashiels Selkirkshire, Ladhope Roxburghshire, Jedburgh Roxburghshire, Morebattle Roxburghshire, Tillicoultry Clackmannanshire
