Franklin Road, Gillingham
« on: Thursday 26 May 16 23:18 BST (UK) »
I was wondering who built the houses in Franklin Road.... in particular a row of 4 cottages call Devon Cottages. Does anyone have any info that could shed some light for me?

Thanks

I can see the houses on the 1881 census - do you know when they were built?

Do you know which ones?

Franklin Road not there in 1863/1865 (lies between Duncan and Gillingham) to help in your search:

Hi,

The plaque says they were built 1869 and I've found them in the 1871 census. There are 4 cottages called Devon Cottages and they are halfway down the road on the opposite side to what is now known as the Frank in Rooms.

The links to the maps are great. Really good to see the road in context, thanks!
