I would presume Meyler Usher listed with Sarah at Charleville Road is actually Bloomfield  Usher
Just a note of interest also listed at that address in 1950 were Rosamund Jacob and Lucy L Kingston apparently the owner of the house.

Luke or Noble Luke Usher (born 1709 - died 1787 buried in Birr ) married secondly in 1737 Anne Bloomfield daughter of Benjamin Bloomfield, Tanner of Eyrecourt, Co. Galway.  Their eight child William Usher who was born 17 January, 1748 married Rebecca Porter and they had issue as follows  Isaac, Luke, Bloomfield, William and Mary Anne.  Isaac married Frances Parker and was father to Dr. Isaac Usher of Dundrum and as you know he married Rose Cecelia Alice Henrietta Meyler youngest daughter of Captain George Meyler, 65 Regiment. Isaac William who died in 1916 in Somme was born 14 May 1896, another male born 6 March,1897 (probably died young), Rosie Priscilla May Emma born 1 May 1898 and Bloomfield Meyler born 7 September 1899 married Sarah Yeates daughter of William Yeates farmer in Magdalen Church of Ireland Dublin  on 19 November 1940.
Thank you for the further information on Bloomfiled Meyler Usher.   We have a copy of a fine portrait of Dr. Isaac Usher.

These Ushers are descendents of Arland Usher who was Mayor of Dublin 1469 and this branch are known as the Ushers of Birr.  The first Reunion of the Ushers of Birr was held in 2007 and every two years since, hence our interest in tracing descendents.

Dear Marion,

Thank you for this. I am most interested to hear that the Ushers of Birr regularly meet. I have seen the Ushers of Birr article by J.M. Masters and also the 19th century account by Ball Wright.  I am sending you a private message and hope we can be of mutual assistance.

With best wishes
Queencorgi
