Death of Samuel Gardner 1879
« on: Saturday 28 May 16 00:16 BST (UK) »
I am looking to verify the death of Samuel Gardner 18 September 1879...

I have tried searching the British Newspapers but couldn't find anything but then came across a part piece in the Gloucestershire Chronicle  which I believe says he died Duntisbourne House, which I think was bequeathed to him by his father Thomas Gardner when he died in 1827.... (date was 27 September 1879)

Samuel I think owned Edge Farm....

My query is it possible for anyone to find the the complete article of his death or him on the 1871 census to see where he was living then....

Do you have a date of birth for Samuel? I can see a few, all born in the 1790's, in Gloucestershire.
I am Australian, from all the lands I come (my ancestors, at least!)

Pine/Pyne, Dowdeswell, Kempster, Sando/Sandoe/Sandow, Nancarrow, Hounslow, Youatt, Richardson, Jarmyn, Oxlade, Coad, Kelsey, Crampton, Lindner, Pittaway, and too many others to name.
Devon, Dorset, Gloucs, Cornwall, Warwickshire, Bucks, Oxfordshire, Wilts, Germany, Sweden, and of course London, to name a few.

Identical piece in the Gloucester Journal on the same date, except with the addition of "rather sudden" before heart disease.

Hi

The Thomas Gardner that died in 1827, left a Will. Beneficiaries included his wife CELIA ( left his copyhold estate in Duntismoure for the term of her natural life, plus part of the buildings known as Horsepool Inn) daughter MARY ANN ( same property when she attained the age of 21)
The property known as the Horsepool Inn and his dwellinghouses buildings and lands near to Horsepool were left to eldest son THOMAS.

EDIT:
Samuel was left the dwellinghouse in the parish of Brookthrop, occupied by Jane Sparrow, lands and another property, land and buildings named Organs Farm.

Quite a long Will
