Missing baptism Anne Lennon- help please
« on: Saturday 28 May 16 19:40 BST (UK) »
Anne, Ann or Anna Maria Lennon was born between 1827-1831 in Athlone, Westmeath.

Her marriage in 1845 in Cork states her father as Thomas Lennon, but with no occupation. This states her as a minor.

Her first child was then born, according to military and census records, a year later in 1846 in Ballykeeran, just a few miles from Athlone. I can't find this child's baptism either- Henry William Raymond junior.

I've found many tithe records stating a Thomas Lennon in the 1820s around Athlone and the various parishes in it as well as other Lennons.

A Landon Thomas Lennon is found in 1842 in Cheshire, England. He was residing in Ballykeeran at the time of his marriage, and his father was also a Thomas Lennon. (a gentleman) Considering the name Landon is passed through generations of Anna's children, I'm sure they're siblings or at least cousins, and a Landon Lennon is a name cropping up in Westmeath. He's born between 1812-1818 in Athlone too.

I've searched through the available records of Athlone on the Irish registers, and searched on all the main sites, but I can't find any record of Anna's baptism. Does anyone have any suggestions or can find Anne? Anything would be appreciated.

Hi,
I was about to log off when I saw your message.
I found a birth in Kilkennywest, Glasson, Westmeath.
Anne born the 30th Jan 1823.
Do you think this is her?

Landon Lennon's father is John and Mother is Mary.
28th April 1847 is his birth date in Kilkenny West, Westmeath.

Interestingly, on her death record (which I think is her, it's the only one that matches) her birth date is 1823. I've always wondered if it's correct because the birth date is out. The only problem is she was a minor on her wedding certificate. There were obviously many Landon Lennons, however his birth date would be  about 20 years previously. Thanks for looking. Maybe she was born in Kilkenny instead... However I might have thought she was from St Mary's Athlone, or Ballykeeran?...
Could you please tell me which site you found these baptisms on?

Ah, that's probably why I haven't seen those records before, as I don't have a subscription to pay for the viewing of these records? It's a shame Ballykeeran doesn't seem to have it's own church, as if Anne's child was born there, I'm sure that that must where her home must be to go back there?
