Look up please sisters Hannah/Anna & Christian(n)a HARRY
« on: Monday 30 May 16 01:18 BST (UK) »
I would appreciate help in locating Hannah/Ann Harry b1847 and Christian(n)a Harry b1850 St Austell beyond 1861.
In 1861 they were still at home St Austell with their mother Maria , but the surname had been transcribed as Harris.
It is thought that their father John had drowned in South America.
Maria was in London working as a nurse in 1871.
In 1874 she remarried ( Crabb).

I am trying to find what became of Hannah/Anna and Christian(n)a.

With thanks.
Wyatt and Wood of Glossop, Derbyshire. Longstaff of Bishop Auckland,Durham. Harry of St Austell and St Kew,Cornwall. Charters of County Antrim.Knight of Warwickshire.Hendy of Ballyedmonduff.

Thank you very much Keyboard.
Maria the mother of Hannah was working as a nurse in Marylebone in 1871.
One point which puzzles me is I think you are saying her father was John Green.
I know her father to be John Harry who was still with his family in St Austell in 1851 but is thought to have drowned Rio Grande do Sul ( Brazil) in 1865.
I have a death registration from consular death indices but cannot determine circumstances.

With regard to Chritiana , it is possible that she was imprisoned following a trial 17 Oct 1865 but I cannot be sure that was her.
Ancestry has Bodmin Gaol Records:

Name: Christiana Harry
Age: 16
Birth Year: 1850
Abode or Birth Place: St. Austell
Marital Status: Single
Occupation: Servant
Admitted Date: 1866
Gaol Employment: Washing
Notes: Dissenter. Stealg. sealskin jacket, silk umbrella, hair bracelet etc. ppty. of Rd. Best and another
Discharged Date: 1866

Still looking for Christiana in 1871. She might have married or was gaoled again assuming it was her.

Your help much appreciated.

Thanks for trying Trish.
Do you think that it might be her jailed Bodmin in 1866 ?
However doesn't explain where she was 1871.
