John Maguire-South Dublin, Ireland -1880's
« on: Wednesday 01 June 16 23:51 BST (UK) »
John Maguire (occupation - letter carrier) married Elizabeth Hole January 7, 1880. (Church of the Holy Trinity, Rathmines in the Parish of St. Peter) The Church Certificate of Marriage says his Father's name was Thomas Maguire.
(Ireland Civil Reg. Marriages Index, 1845-1958 Vol.2 page 565)

Can anyone tell me how/where I can get a scanned copy of the above page? Does anyone know if it will have his mother's name on it?

John died abt 1890-1891. I am trying to find out his mother's name, if he had brothers & sisters, where and when he was born, etc.

Hi and Welcome to RootsChat.
The IrishGenelogy.ie page for the marriage
http://churchrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/details/66e5800522540
has a link the bottom to view the original page image.
It doensn't mention his mothers name, COI marriages don't - so you will need to look for baptism records for himself or siblings.

Marriages usually took place in the brides parish, so Rathmines may or may not be where John is from so with that in mind there is a Mary Maguire father Thomas a coachman

possible sister.

Thank you Sinann for your help in locating a possible sibling for John, and also for the tip that the marriages usually took place in the brides parish.

Hopefully I can locate a census that will put them in the same Household under Thomas.

Thank you for all the links you provided for Mary & her son, Francis. Every bit of information helps me connect the dots on my family before they came to America. :)
