Wanting to know where this town is in Laois
« on: Thursday 02 June 16 02:23 BST (UK) »
Please could someone tell me where the town mentioned in the attachment is located. I don't seem to be able to find it on google maps. I could be reading it wrong. Is it near Ballybrittas? On some records it says Ballybrittas or near Ballybrittas.
Thank you
Evelyn

If the town is Mountmellick then what would the parish be? On the attachment it looks like it starts with a T but I can not find one that is suitable.

Thank you

It's Killenard;
There is an old headstone in Killenard for Molloy;
erected by Elizabeth Molloy for
husband-Anthony Molloy; 1862 (62)
son-Peter; 1851 (17)
above Elizabeth; 1885 (73)

Killenard doesn't seem to have been a parish. Mountmellick is not in Killenard. The beginning of the parish name looks the same as the beginning of his age which seems to be twenty. I am confused. The only thing I am sure about is they're both in Laois.
Sorry if I am being pedantic.

http://killenard.com/

Links about Killenard.

I can see what you mean by letter "T" of "Twenty".  The upper right part of letter K is feint. Hope this helps.
