Export Names and Families only from Ancestry
« on: Thursday 02 June 16 09:02 BST (UK) »
I have got myself in such a muddle, and I don't know which is the best direction to go!
I have a couple of trees on Ancestry, but I'm now sure I have wrong families/connections in it.
I want to start over in Family Historian.

I was wondering if it were possible (or a good idea) to try and import the names of people only. Maybe in the families I'm sure of first, then rebuild the facts, sources etc after.

It seems too big a task to completely start again from scratch!

Thanks for any ideas

The only export option from Ancestry is a complete Gedcom file of the complete tree.

BUT, it might be a good idea to do that, and then import the Gedcom into some FH software, and edit it there?

I use RootsMagic, and I can delete a family with just a few clicks ;D
