there are a couple of John Tuplins who are unmarried in 1861 in Lincs who maybe contenders for father of John Tuplin Wright - but first baptism record required to see if father is mentioned

1851
N Thoresby Lincs
Ann Wright head widow 40 Pauper Whitern? Lincs
James son 10 Irby
Frances daughter 10 Irby

I would say Ann's age was 48.

The "hilliterate haitch" makes its appearance as the children's birthplace is given as Herby. ;)
Today I broke my personal record for most consecutive days alive.

The info you guys have found is amazing, I have emailed a descendant from one of John Tuplin Wrights children in Canada after putting his name into google and finding a blog from 2005, the email wouldn't work so i searched facebook and found the person and messaged him, I hope to get as much info from him before buying his birth certificate.

It will be interesting to hear where that name came from

I wondered if maybe it was Percy Tuplin but cannot find anyone of the correct age named that

the nearest I could find was Frederick George Piercy married Millie Tupling 1872 St Johns Great Grimsby
and the birth of a child Edward Piercy mother's maiden name Tuplin -but that was Dec 1911 Grimsby

Please let us know more

Just throwing this in the mix?

1841 census has a Piercey Wright, age 14, in Southampton.
Garrad (Suffolk, Essex, Somerset), Crocker (Somerset), Vanstone (Devon, Jersey), Sims (Wiltshire), Bridger (Kent)
