KANE-FEENY NEWTOWNFORBES AREA
« on: Sunday 12 June 16 22:57 BST (UK) »
Hi
Looking for any information on Michael Kane and Elizabeth Feeny I found them on the 1911 Census living at 19 Ballagh NEWTOWNFORBES with my Grandfather Jihn Kane 6
They were RC and Michael had been married before with older children both on the 1901 and 1911 Census
Would he have been able to marry again in a church or civil ceremony😊
I cannot find a marriage for them

This looks like them, her name as Feeney, it fits with the number of years married in 1911 given the difference in months marriage and census time.

FTR
1911 at #10 Ballagh - LINK - John aged 16

1901 at #19 Ballagh - LINK - John aged 6

The link Sinann gave is to the civil reference that would allow you order a photocopy of certificate from the GRO at €4; unfortunately the church records online for Newtownforbes does not go to 1886 - LINK

The link to the NLI site only has marriages to 1883
You would have to purchase the certificate from the GRO using the reference
Group ID 2379751 or
1886 Longford Q3 V3 P163 to see their occupations, address and father's names

Her youngest child Joseph is listed as mother Feeny

As a family member probably registered the child this is more likely to be the correct spelling. You will need to keep an open mind on the spelling as it will depend on how the person taking down the detail decided to spell it.
