Christopher Harry 1841 Census Holmbush St Austell
« on: Sunday 12 June 16 23:38 BST (UK) »
Can someone please help me identify Christopher Harry 45 Blacksmith , wife Catherine 45 and 5 children from 1841 Census Holmbush St Austell , also Joseph Harry tin miner and Mary Ann Harry same Census.
I am researching my Harry family and can account for two other Harry families at Western Boscundle same Census.
I am trying to determine if Christopher and family belong.
Wyatt and Wood of Glossop, Derbyshire. Longstaff of Bishop Auckland,Durham. Harry of St Austell and St Kew,Cornwall. Charters of County Antrim.Knight of Warwickshire.Hendy of Ballyedmonduff.

Sorry Carole.
Where was he born , parents etc.
I am assuming he might connect to my Harry family but cannot find birth/bpt for him or any of his family. Also cannot find a marriage for Christopher and Catherine.

With thanks
Rex

Can you post full 1841 details as you have not given names or ages of any children.  Same for Joseph and Mary Ann - no ages given or children's details (if any)

I've found them both - their surname is Harris, not Harry.

Hello Annette
Any chance should be Harry as sometimes Harry transcribed as Harris.
I am finding variants.

Thank you.

As stated, both are definitely Harris not Harry.

Christopher is shown as Harris in 1851 bc.1792 St. Agnes, Cornwall

Christopher Harris baptised 1/4/1793 St. Agnes in Truro, son of Charles and Martha

Christopher Harris married Catherine Blamey 6/6/1814 St. Austell

The Joseph appears to be their son bp.2/7/1817 St. Austell and who married Mary Ann Woon 12/8/1838 Truro.  By 1851 they have moved to St. Cleer and definitely Harris.

Every entry I find relating to them states their name as Harris.
