I have traced my Starling family back to William Starling, born abt1607, who married Mary, or Marie, Prime in 1627. Can anybody help with back information on Willam?

Ancestry has transcript of marriage. It was at "Newton by Cambridge". Could be the one between Fowlmere and Harston on B1368

How accurately is birth year known? There is a baptism of William Starelinge (sic) 16 may 1604 in Balsham s/o William no mother recorded. Balsham is about 11 miles from Newton.

I did wonder about the 1804 birth reg. The marriage was at newton-by-Cambridge.

FreeBMD has Newton records and includes the church dedication to St Margaret, so would be the Newton near Fowlmere. Looking at Newton records, it would seem that an Edmund Starling married Catherine Prime (widow). It looks as if she might be Mary Prime's mother.
