1939 - "This household is closed"
« on: Tuesday 14 June 16 08:07 BST (UK) »
Looking for Emma Doidge, born 1859, in Devon, on the 1939 Register I was pleased to find a matching entry in Exeter C B. However when I tried to obtain a preview it was stated that "This household is closed"  - Emma's name was not even shown. I then read that to apply to have a closed entry opened, besides paying a fee, I have to provide an address, which I do not have.

My first thought was that the address was some form of institution. Can anyone suggest an alternative explanation? (I have given specific personal details solely to enable others to view the problem for themselves - I understand and accept the constraints relating to "look-ups")

Hi

Are you subscribed to FindMyPast and are you logged in??

I am am subscriber and logged into FindMyPast UK and I could view transcription and image but when I entered without logging in I received the message "household locked".

When my husband "cleans" my computer I often forget to log in and then realise when messages like you had come up.

Thanks, all three. The household has now been opened!
