Margaret Bell married John Jamieson in Australia

Greetings all,

I'm looking for information on Margaret Bell, daughter of John and Margaret and born  May 25 1800, at Carnsolloch.

Her death as Margaret Jamieson was in 1867, in Patrick's Plain NSW.

What I am looking to do is try to link this Bell family to my John Morrison/Cameron in Redcastle. When John came to Australia the written shipping log states that he was going to his aunt Margaret Jamieson who was in the Patrick's Plain general area. However, she is not the only Margaret Jamieson in the area.

It may be that Margaret and John married in Scotland. John is shown to be born in September 2, 1799 at Inshanks.

I had forgotten about this post. It is now suspected that what I had read as Jamieson may in fact be Cameron. I need to visit NSW State records again, next Sydney trip, to take another look at the reel.

Have been on Scotland's People and didn't find a birth for Mary Bell - 25 May 1800. Also looked for a marriage for John Jamieson/Cameron to a Margaret Bell - 1816/1820 but none.

This may have no connection

Found a birth for a John Cameron one day out from the one you gave - 23/09/1797  - parents William Cameron and Isabel McKenzie - Dingwall, Ross and Cromatry.

I think Cameron is rather common in Ross and Crom.

Don't bother with this pair as almost certain they aren't connected to mine.

It looks like my John Morrison/Cameron who said he was coming out to Aunt Margaret was related to a Margaret nee Cameron who married John Cameron, arriving here in the 1930.  She appears to be the sister of my John's grandfather Finlay.

Someone connected to another child of my John is working on it.
