Manor House Richmond
« on: Tuesday 14 June 16 15:37 BST (UK) »
I have the same man   living at the Manor House Richmond from at least 1881 to his death in 1904.

In 1901 census it also says Sheen Road.
I can`t find anything about it, was it as grand as it sounds.  He did have 10 children and was quite well off.

The 1911 will tell you how many rooms there were  ;D

ADDED the 1901 shows it between the Almshouses and Manor Road.

I just searched Isabella Francis living Richmond, she was living there with her father in 1901.

Looking at google earth there is a square house between the almshouses and Manor Road, not sure that it was large enough though.

This is the closest I can find by comparing to a modern map.

Thanks for the help anyway.

There is a Richmond local history group, it might be worth contacting them to see if they have any information.  http://www.richmondhistory.org.uk/

Hopefully Dawnsh will spot this as I think she has more idea on Richmond resources than me  ;D

This link should give you a map that shows the location http://maps.nls.uk/view/101202075

Manor House is to the right of HIckey's Almshouses, as Rosie suggested, so you need to zoom in and look to the far right, about 1/3 down the map.

Thank you.
Sadly it seems it`s not there any more.
I found Greena Road  on the old map and Manor House at the end.
Greena Road is there now, but where Manor House stood seems to be newish houses, what a shame .
The pub opposite is still standing, the Black Horse.

Oh dear, that is probably now closed, I wonder if  Mr Francis popped in for a pint after work.
