I wonder if anyone could fill in some gaps I have with regard to the above (highlighted in italics.

Jeremiah Maitland (B: 1882 - Omagh) (? his parents and full date of birth)
1901 - Servant on farm.
1905 - married Eliza Jane Hetherington.
1907 - birth of son David Alexander.
1909 - birth of daughter Charlotte Mary (what happened to her?)
1911 - Census living in Cavanacaw.
1913 - birth of son Jeremiah (who died in 1940 and is buried in Scotland)
1915 - wife Eliza died.
1917 - 1918 - Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers.
1920 - remarried (remarried who)
1940 - living in Bearney, Strabane, Tyrone.
? date of death.

Both the 1905 Hetherington marriage and the 1920 Nicholl marriage describe the groom's father as David Maitland, a scutcher.

A Jeremiah Mettland was born on 26 February 1882, his parents given as David Mettland (a scutcher) and Jane McCollum, the address was the townland of Rakeeranbeg in Dromore civil parish, Co. Tyrone. For these parents there were also a son William John (1880), Sarah Isabella (1885), Isabella (1888), and Robert James (1890).

On 14 November 1879 bachelor David Maitland, a 20 year old scutcher living in Castletown (father David Maitland a scutcher), married 22 year old spinster Jane McCollum, also living in Castletown (father John McCollum a scutcher).

On 14 January 1930 in Clogherny Church of Ireland, spinster Charlotte Mary Maitland (father Jeremiah Maitland) married bachelor William John Kerr (father unknown), the address given for both was Benchran (possibly the townland of Bancran in the civil parish of Termonmaguirk?).

GRONI online has a death registered in Strabane district for a Jeremiah Maitland who died on 28 November 1964 with a reported age of 83, just a possibility.

Wow!!!

Thank you so much for all your hard work.  I am blown away with the information you have given me, although I am struggling with the 1901 and 1911 census entry for David Maitland (Mettland) and his children in comparison to the children for David and Jane mentioned by Gaffy.  There appears to be two Sarah Isabella's born on different dates.  Now I had thought perhaps one died and they named their later child in memory of her but the entry 7 born and 6 alive in 1911 doesn't add up as to my reckoning it is 8 children if you count Jeremiah.  However, I am being rather pedantic and I really appreciate what you have given me.
