Strange, there was only one Jacob Goss born anywhere between 1862 and 1864. That would fit with this death. Where did the Falkland deaths come from?

Jacob N Goss
Birth Date:   abt 1863
Date of Registration:   Jun 1942
Age at Death:   79
Registration district:   Croydon   Surrey
Volume:   2a  Page:   1080

YES: That's Jacob Napoleon as his date of birth was 30 Oct 1863, same as the one baptised to Richard William.

Reading the opening post - the Falklands death appears to refer to Richard Victor Goss - the glazier.

Thanks Everyone,

Richards son was the William Henry Goss and was a potter and Richard was working for him in 1851(Census)  I know I had seen a Victor thanks for clearing that up.  I have a book which mentions Richards father being a William Goss (London Merchant) and his father being called Thomas married to an Anne.....  If anyone can find any proof in that.  Thanks again everyone.

There appears to be some confusion between the various generations of Goss

Going back to the 1851 entry - son William was William Henry baptised 1833 at the same church as Richard William.  Parents were Richard and Sophia Sarah Goss and Richard was a silk weaver

Your reply below does not correspond with the info found.  Richard Henry was only born in 1833 and his father was a glazier in 1851.  William was a clerk in a warehouse in 1851

I really think you need to have a re-think about the info you have found and where each person fits with the parents

What is your connection to the Goss family?

Beatrice Goss B 1915 was my grandmother
Her Father was Richard Willam Napoleon Goss B 1884 Falklands
Her Grandfather Richard William Napoleon Goss B 1853 Died in Falklands
Her Great Grandfather Jacob Napoleon Goss B 1825 Died in Falklands
Her Great Great Grandfather Richard Goss 179? St Lukes

As you can see the names Richard and Napoleon run through the family.

So the Jacob Napoleon is the one that appears on an Ancestry tree as Jacob Napoleon Goss 1825–1868
BIRTH JUN 17 1825 • Shoreditch London
DEATH SEP 11 1868 • Falkland Islands Grave No D 330 or 332?

Unfortunately there are no sources attached to the tree.

The only part of the Goss family named above with connections to England are Jacob Napoleon b 1825 and his parents Richard and Sophia Sarah

There is no marriage in England for Jacob so assume he married in The Falklands
