GSP Family Tree running on Vista
« on: Monday 20 June 16 09:44 BST (UK) »
I have been running GSP Family Tree software V 2.0a for years on Vista and it has been working fine.

I tried to run it yesterday, 19/6/16, and I now get the NTVDM.EXE has stopped working error.

I'm sure I ran the program a couple of weeks ago and it worked okay so I am thinking that recent Windows Updates on 15/06 might be causing this problem.

I just wanted to get any feedback/information from anyone who has had something similar before I uninstall these Windows updates to see if it fixes my problem.

Welcome to RootsChat! ;D

Numerous reports of this problem if you do a Google search ::)

The website http://www.vistax64.com/software/287808-ntvdm-exe.html has a download available, to reinstall the program.

The website http://www.compuchenna.co.uk/ntvdm-exe/ (albeit for XP) recommends removing KB2707511.

The download file that is on that forum is identical to my file and the guy was missing ntvdm.exe, so that wouldn't fix my problem.

The other link, as you said, is for XP, so that wouldn't work either but thanks for the reply.
