Looking for relatives of the late Leonard Johnson

However I cannot find Anna Thorpe or Anna Johnson on the 1939 Register..She not living with her mother either.

Did Ann/Anna have a baby/or was poorly just after Sept 1939,if so maybe she was in a hospital ,which may only have her listed by her initials

Sam was born  late Oct  1939 in Queen Charlotte's Hospital, Birth certificate says Reg Dist: Marylebone.  Informant: Mother- A. P. Thorpe of 34 Kelston St. Hampstead.

I forgot to mention that I have a photo of Sam given to me by his sister.  She only met his a couple of times.  Their other sister took her to visit Sam when he was in a childrens home/foster home.

Looking through Sam’s sister’s letter she sent to me, she said she had a cousin Pat on her father’s side. This is not the eldest sister of the children (she was born 1944). 

She also sent me a photo of Sam and on of a ''Nellie Johnson'' But I know know who exactly she is/was. It's a black and white photo and it's difficult to age her as she has her hair in rollers and is seems to be drinking a cup of tea sat at a table, resting her other elbow on the table..with a cigarette in her hand.  Perhaps someone else might have the same picture.

Going back to Leonard..I've found the likely Birth Reg for for him. MMN Ellis.

Also found a couple of likely siblings, a Frederck and an Ida M ..who married a W Ward..Looks like they had a daughter, P R. 

Perhaps Mrs I Ward the witness at Anna & Leonard's wedding is  Ida M!

Death Certificate for Leonard Johnson arrived this morning, Certificate states he died in Hospital was born in Yorkshire, and Caretaker of Flats in Camden. His son Sam was the informant!  However, Sam has an additional 3rd name, his father's.  Sam's second name matches his Birth Certificate though..

Do the addresses,  97/107 Southampton Row Camden or The Ship Tavern, Gate Street, W.C.2  mean anything to any Johnsons?

I now have Leonard Johnson's Death Certificate.  His son Samuel was the informant.

If you know his mother's maiden name, you can search FreeBMD for any Johnson births with that maiden name.

Or check the birth registrations of his siblings?
They will also show Mother's Maiden Name.

Good News.  Leonard Johnson's Birth Certificate has arrived - DOB 6th June 1915 which matches his DOB on the Death Certificate and also on the 1939 Register! 

He was atually born in Swinton. His Father was Samuel Johnson, a coal hewer filler and his mother was Rachel Ellis. 

So if anyone else has any photos of Leonard's siblings I would be interested to make contact and maybe they can put a name to the ones that I have.

Thanks once again for locating his Death Registration as I was lead to believe that he had gone back up north.
