Ancestry of Josiah Gregg 1806-1850
« on: Monday 27 June 16 17:47 BST (UK) »
I'm looking for details about the ancestry of Josiah Gregg, 1806-1850, who was an American naturalist and explorer.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Josiah_Gregg

His parents were Harmon and Susannah (Smelser) Gregg.  I'm hoping to go back 5-6 generations on the Gregg side.

Thank you, as always!
Wisconsin: Lytle, Young, Feldschau
Ontario/Scotland: Main, Steele
New York: Van Horne, Hipelius
Bavaria: Hipelius, Trost, Roser

Thank you Sandra & Genealiza.  Based on your suggestions, I was able to trace Dr. Gregg's ancestry back 7 generations.
