« on: Thursday 30 June 16 10:20 BST (UK) »
Hello
my friend wants to know if his relative is cremated at Newcastle but the Record Office want £20 to check, I said I would ask Rootschatters  for him I ought to persude him to join.
The relative is James Ashcroft died 27 February 1954 aged 86
He died in a home for aged men in Newcastle but he is not buried with his wife in Manchester.
  Thank you

I would think the logical place to enquire would be Newcastle Council bereavement services, they should hold records for the cemeteries and crematoria.
