Baptism/census lookup William Brown
« on: Thursday 30 June 16 20:51 BST (UK) »
I am trying to find a baptism record for a William Brown it says on the 1881 census that he was born in Swanton Morley about 1875. His fathers name was Robert and his mother Hagar. In 1881 he is living in Middlesborough  with some of his family. I am also trying to find him on any census records after this.

Thanks for that. Maybe he wasnt born in Swanton Morley. His brother James was born in Scaring in 1863 then Sarah Ellen in 1864 in Gressenhall then John in Gressenhall in 1866and then Martha in what looks like Donton in 1868.
The others you mentioned are mine.
With a name like Hagar its not that hard to say they are not.
And thanks again

1881 Mother Hagar is living in Eston Middlesborough Yks with 3 children -she is a widow
I can't find her or the children in 1891 or 1901
but she is still alive in 1911

I think the children are : James, Sarah Ellen, John,Martha, William, Cornelius, Anna, Emma
did the children all survive?

Thanks for all the look ups. Yes the Robert you mentioned did die in the mines. He came here for work but he had a tragic death.
I will carry on looking for William.
It looks like most of the girls married
So i will carry on searching.
