John Unsworth & Valentine Unsworth

Hello I am trying to find a date of birth for John Unsworth born in Daubhill, Bolton, Lancashire circa 1879.

The 1881 census shows him aged 2 years living in the household of William Hughes at Row 28, Clipsley Lane, Haydock. He is shown as grandson, and birthplace as Dobble.

Also included in the household are:

Ellen Unsworth a boarder, aged 36, Jane Unsworth, daughter, aged 5, Valentine, grandson, aged 11months.

However, in order for John and Valentine to be the grandsons of William and Maria Hughes, Ellen Unsworth would have to be their daughter, but she isn't shown as part of their family on the 1851 or 1861 Census.

It is possible that John and Valentine are Ellen Unsworth's grandsons!

There is no sign of them on the 1891 census.

John married Margaret Alice Jackson on 7 April 1900 and in 1901 was living with his in-laws in Haydock Lane, Haydock. In 1911 they were living in Booth Street, Thatto Heath St Helens. He died on 17 June 1917 in France. His military records were destroyed during WW2.

Daughter Jane married Francis, the son of William and Maria Hughes, on 30 December 1893. He is also shown in the household on the 1881 census, aged 13 years, indicating that they were not related.

The 1901 Census for Francis (Frank) Hughes and Jane has his mother Maria living with them and also Edwin Unsworth aged 29 years born in Bolton as a boarder.

I found an Edwin Unsworth born in Bolton Apr-May-Jun 1871vol 8c page 269. If he is part of Ellen Unsworth's family where was he in 1881? There are a lot of Unsworths in and around St Helens so he may well be a distant cousin!

I thought that the best chance of finding more information would be with Valentine, however I can find him on the 1901 and 1911 Censuses, living in Booth Street, Thatto Heath, St Helens, and his death in 1959 but no record of his birth.

Any information or inspiration would be greatly appreciated.

If you are search on Ancestry take a look at the "Warrior" family living in Haydock.  At a guess it could be Harrison, but still not sure:
