Without a birthyear or birthplace it would be impossible to pinpoint the right person

Do you have him on any census entry?

When did he die and how old was he at that time

I think Johanna was a little untruthful about her age on marriage

this looks like her baptism record
18 Aug 1829 Liverpool St Peter
Baptism of Johanna Poulson
parents George and mary Ann
address Edgar St
father's occ Brushmaker (1841 census he was a tobacconist

if I am following the correct couple this could be them in 1851 census
102 Pitt St Liverpool
William Cockshill Head M 47 shipwright
Christiana wife 26
JOHN JAMES lodger M 29 Master mariner Milford Pembroke
JOANNA JAMES Lodger M 21 Master mariner's wife Liverpool
JOHN HENRY JAMES lodger 1 Master mariner's son Liverpool

There are three baptisms in Pembroke within a reasonable time frame to possibly be your John.

All have father Benjamin and mother Mary.

My ipad is playing up at the moment so I am unable to see the images to see if occupation of Benjamin is noted. It is also possible that this is the same Benjamin and Mary whose younger Johns died and they named the third son John too.

Maybe you or someone else can check these baptisms. None appear to have a middle name so this may not be the correct family, but may be worth a look anyway.
