Maidstone All Saints Parish Registers
« on: Tuesday 05 July 16 02:12 BST (UK) »
Hi is anyone able to check for some christenings and possibly burials in the parish registers of All Saints church, Maidstone?

I am looking for the christenings of the following:

George Bongard born between c1805-1809 son of George and Mary Bongard.

Elizabeth Bongard - born c1821
William Bongard - born c1826
John Bongard - born c1836

The above three are all children of George and Ann Bongard.

They all appear on the census with their parents and I think I have found Elizabeth's marriage. However I have not yet found records for these children on familysearch or Ancestry.

Also is anyone able to check for a christening for a George Bongard and also for Mary Button between about 1750 and 1785?

If anyone can help with burials or marriages please let me know.

Many thanks

Matt

Have you seen the original marriage register for this couple as online transcript has Mary's surname as Burton

From the transcriptions on FindMyPast by Kent FHS:

George - born 21 September, baptised 7 October 1808 - George and Mary
William - born 15 November 1802, baptised 10 August 1803 - George and Mary
Isaac - born 13 March, baptised 9 July 1806 - George and Mary

There are no entries for Elizabeth, William and John - but there is an entry for Emily - baptised 16 August 1835 - George (Bricklayer) and Ann of Maidstone

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

Hi

Sorry that was a typo on my part. Mary's name was Burton not Button.

Hi

Thanks for those. I wonder if Elizabeth, William and John could have been christened at another church perhaps?

Many Thanks

Matt

Set out below is a list of baptisms, as found, at All Saints, Maidstone.

The spellings are as per the transcriptions.  ???

Dec 27 1816 Mary Ann D of George & Ann BUNYARD Maidstone Bricklayer
Feb 10 1819 Elizabeth D of George & Ann BUNYARD Maidstone Bricklayer
Dec 23 1821 William S of George & Ann BUNYARD Maidstone, Bricklayer
May 14 1826 Frances D of George & Ann BUNYARD Maidstone Bricklayer
Oct 12 1828 Eliza D of George & Ann BUNGAR Maidstone Bricklayer
Mar 18 1832 John S of George & Ann BANYARD Maidstone Bricklayer

I also found a baptism for a Mary Burton as follows,

Jan 22 1769 Mary D of William & Eleanor BURTON

Note.  This is the only Burton baptism at All Saints to William & Eleanor.

Hope this may help with a loose ends.  ???

Actually, looking at the whole thread, it could throw the cat amongst the pigeons!  ??? ???

Regards,
Tony
